(sold) Shoe Lover IV. “Hangisi” Blue Satin Pumps. Linen 7x5 inches

2012-12-31_01-51-36_992
Sold

Above are a few pictures I took when painting the shoes and when I remembered  to take a picture. I often plan to photograph my paintings at different stages but I get so involved with the painting that I forget :-). I never draw my pictures. I just start with some neutral color and  continue into colors as the painting develops.
Another addition to my Shoe Collection Series – Gorgeous Blue satin "Hangisi" Pumps by legendary Manolo Blahnik.
the painting was done on linen panel 7x5 inches, wet into wet direct paint application

I priced this painting a bit higher then all the previous ones from this series because of the slightly complex composition I decided to go by.
Please enjoy the painting and Happy New Year!!!

sold - Copper Bowl with Lemons. Oil on linen panel 8x8 inches

Copper Bowl with Lemons 8x8 linen_2

Three lemons

Sold

I bought this beautiful copper bowl last summer and have been thinking about including it into one of my paintings since. I have tried different objects with the bowl but lemons seemed to make the most attractive composition. I also added a small branch with two dry apple leaves to complete the set up and which definitely complimented the picture. Bright golden yellow surface of the metal is very shiny and reflective and as any metal, copper is a pretty complex object to paint but always fun to practice.

As always, I am striving to take the best photo of my paintings as I possibly can. But as many of you would agree with me, paintings look so much more beautiful in person and this is one of those paintings. Overall , I like the way the picture turned out and hope you also enjoyed this new painting with Copper Bowl and three Lemons.

Have a wonderful week everyone and thank you for visiting my website!

Another painting of a beautiful red pomegranate. this time in a darker set up then the previous one done against the sky blue background shining in the daylight. It is always much more trickier to arrange a set up with a dark background and to portrait an object three dimensional. It was interesting to set up a pomegranate in the dark as unlike apples or any other objects with glossier texture, pomegranate does not reflect the spot light as much. the skin of the fruit rather “absorbs” the light and spreads it across the surface changing the color from dark burgundy to bright yellow with matte, off-white highlights.
The painting is posted on Daily Paintworks with low start up bid. Please enjoy the painting and have a wonderful day!~
