Today’s painting – Mandarin “Cutie” – was done alla prima from life on canvas panel 6x6 inches. I purchased these mandarins today for the first time and they are now my favorite. Juicy and sweet, with beautiful  dark orange skin, they are absolutely delicious to eat as well as paint :).

Daily painting – Sweet Grapes. The painting was done alla prima on  canvas panel 6x6 inches(15x15 cm) .

As I mentioned in one of my previous posts, although it can be quite challenging to render the shape and color, I absolutely love painting grapes. This particular painting was painted from life and I was very careful when touching the grapes to preserve that grayish-blue color dust that makes grapes so beautiful and the painting so colorful.

This is my third painting of  lemon done on 6x6 canvas panel for which I have selected a larger lemon and a bit more colorful.  rich yellow-orange skin with slight touch of green made the painting more interesting.
