sold - Sweet Grapes. Canvas panel 6x6 inches

2012-11-29_22-00-55_493

Sold

Another painting with a cluster of sweet purple grapes done on canvas panel 6x6 inches. Truly, one of my most favorite still life to paint. Regardless how small or big a painting of grapes is and what color the grapes are, it is always pretty challenging to match a rainbow of colors and make a cluster to look realistic. And , of course, finishing the painting with application of the bluish-grey dust that shapes and makes the grapes look so beautiful is always fun.

I hope you enjoy this painting and have a safe and pleasant day!~

Today’s painting features a beautiful juicy Bartlett pear. I was grocery shopping yesterday when I saw this pear. it was so colorful and perfectly shaped that I had to buy it just to paint it. I  think this painting made a great addition to the 6x6 painting series and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did when painting it.

Thank you and have a wonderful Day!

(sold) Beautiful Green Apple. Oil on canvas panel 6x6

Today’s painting features a Beautiful Granny Smith Apple, the most recognized from all apples by its bright light to dark green color. Its one of my favorite dessert apples and painting it is so much fun. I never use green paint straight from the tube and mixing your own greens is always fun with more realistic results.
please enjoy the painting and have a great day!

Lemon on canson canva paper 9x9 _2

Since my first painting done on Canson canva-paper and posted for auction, I have received wonderful feedbacks as to how easy and convenient it was to frame the paintings done on canvas-like textured paper and that the colors looked as vibrant as on the oil primed support. I love using canva paper for my sketches and studies, or daily paintings.
Please enjoy the painting and have a relaxing day! :-)

                  Strawberries 6x6 canvas panel

Sold

Today’s painting features still life composition with three strawberries.  I positioned the berries so with the focal point on the bigger strawberry in the middle, which absorbs most of the light.  There are different ways and styles of painting strawberries. This time I chose to focus on tonal value, lights and shadows rather then on detail. Strawberries are a great subject matter to include into a still life composition as they are very colorful and bright with harmonious color combination of reds, greens, yellows.
the painting was done alla prima, wet into wet paint application on 6x6 canvas panel.
Please enjoy the painting and have a wonderful weekend!~

Scarlotta Grapes. Oil on canvas panel 5x5 inches

Today’s painting features one of the most beautiful grapes - Scarlotta ,  or better yet known as Sweet California Seedless sold at the local grocery stores. The painting was done on canvas panel 5x5 inches. I have selected a very colorful , bright cluster of grapes for this painting. I certainly do love challenges and had a fantastic time painting this small picture mixing oils and trying to match that absolutely “rainbow” like spectrum of colors.
Please enjoy the painting and have a wonderful day!

Red Delicious is today’s painting done alla prima on canvas panel 6x6 and I have to say that there is no other red apple that would have such a beautiful rich crimson hue to it. It’s texture and color make it an absolutely irresistible subject matter to paint.

Concord Grapes 6x6 canvas panelConcord Grapes last copy

SOLD

Today’s painting features a beautiful bunch of Concord Grapes. I like paintings grapes and have done paintings with grapes of different color, shape and style. And although it might seem pretty simple and certainly lots of fun , it is quite challenging. The challenge can be all you can think of: form, value, shape.  I think the beauty of any painting is how the artist interprets what he sees. I always admired work of old masters who realistically painted objects yet with that individual artistic touch and have never stopped learning from them with every painting I do.

I hope you like this small painting and have a safe and wonderful weekend~
